Little Champs 2 Classes
Next-level Little Champs — more challenging techniques, deeper drilling, age-matched live training.
Ages 7-8
Little Champs 2 at Gracie Barra Boynton Beach serves children ages seven and eight with the next level of the Gracie Barra kids curriculum. Students who reach this program have passed through Little Champs 1 or have demonstrated the technical foundation needed to place directly into this class. The expectation and pace are higher — children at this age are capable of absorbing more complex technique, drilling with more control, and sustaining focus for longer sessions.
The curriculum at this level moves into more developed grappling territory: multi-step sweeps from the bottom, more involved escape sequences, submission entries from top position, and positional control concepts that require an understanding of how positions relate to each other. Partner drilling becomes more technically demanding, with coaches expecting students to drill at a pace and intensity that actually builds the muscle memory the technique requires — not just going through the motions.
Belt and stripe advancement at this level reflects real technical development. Children who have been in the program consistently and trained attentively advance; children who have attended inconsistently do not, and coaches communicate this honestly and constructively with parents. The standard is meant to mean something — a blue stripe in Little Champs 2 should tell you that your child has genuinely absorbed the corresponding material.
By ages seven and eight, many children are also beginning to understand what it means to be a training partner — someone who helps their partner improve, not just an opponent to beat. This shift in perspective is one of the defining lessons of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and one that Little Champs 2 coaches intentionally reinforce. Call (561) 739-8934 to schedule a free trial class.
